Instant Descent

Instant Descent is an instant potion effect that moves the affected entity downward in its block column to the next available place to stand.

Brewing

A Potion of Depths can be brewed from a Potion of Heights using a Fermented Spider Eye.

Effects

When an entity recieves Instant Descent, their current block column is scanned downwards for the first solid block or water surface with two air blocks above it, and they are teleported there. If no location is found, the effect does nothing.

Higher levels of Instant Descent will skip to the next available location. For example, Instant Descent III will move the player to the third available spot, or the lowest available if there are less than three.

If there is a Crying Obsidian block between the entity’s current and destination positions, the effect does nothing.
