Dislocated

Dislocated is a potion effect that teleports a player to thier spawnpoint, leaving behind an Ender’s Shadow. When the effect ends, they are teleported back to their shadow.

Brewing

A Potion of Partial Visitation can be brewed from an Awkward Potion using a Chorus Flower.

Effects

When a Player who does not already have the Dislocated effect recieves it, they are teleported to their spawnpoint, leaving behind a translucent copy of themself known as “Ender’s Shadow”. When the Dislocated effect is cleared from the player, whether by elapsing, Milk, or a Remedy, the player is teleported back to the location of their shadow.

If a player who is already Dislocated drinks a Potion of Partial Visitation, the Dislocated duration is simply refreshed. Nothing else happens.

While Dislocated, the player’s shadow is vulnerable. It keeps its chunk loaded, and attracts the attention of hostile mobs. Any damage done to the shadow is passed through to the player. If the player’s shadow is dealt a killing blow, the player dies, dropping their items at their current location. If a Dislocated player is dealt a killing blow, their items are dropped at the location of their shadow.

A player with Dislocated is rendered with translucent skin. A Potion of <Player> Seeking will always point towards a player’s shadow if they are Dislocated.

If a player would be teleported between two different dimensions (either when gaining or losing the Dislocated effect), the Dislocated effect must be potency level II or higher. If it is not, the player is teleported to a nearby location as if they had eaten a Chorus Fruit.

A well-timed Ender Pearl can be used to remain behind when Dislocated ends, making the Potion of Partial Visitation useful for returning to a player’s spawnpoint, whether temporarily or permanently.
