<Block|Mob|Player> Seeking
<Block|Mob|Player> Seeking is an essence effect that points compasses at a block, a mob, or a player.
Brewing
A Potion of <Block|Mob|Player> Location can be brewed with a Lodestone from the essence of a block, certain mob drops, a player.
Effects
When a player is affected by Seeking, compasses in their inventory that are not bound to a Lodestone will point to the target, if it is within range. The effect icon also acts as a compass to point in that direction.
| Potency | Range |
|---|---|
| I | 16 chunks |
| II | 32 chunks |
| III | 48 chunks |
| IV | 64 chunks |
When Drinking a <Block> Location potion, a search is started for any copies of that block placed in the world. While the search is running, compasses are shown as a consistent, slow spin. Once found, they point to the block located. If no blocks are found within range, compasses will pivot randomly. If the block is an Anchored Ender Flagon, it has no range check, and will only search for those anchored to the affected player.
If seeking a mob or player instead, there is no search time, but the range check still applies. A player wearing a carved pumpking cannot be located with a Seeking potion. If the player sought is Dislocated, the compass will point to their shadow’s location.
