Usage
The Brewing Still holds one ingredient, one bottle, and Charcoal as fuel. One Charcoal burns long enough to distill four items.
The Brewing Still has a Recipe Book in its interface for helping the user remember which ingredients make which potions and what other recipes the Still can be used for.
Mundane Potions
The basic Mundane Potion with no effect can be brewed or distilled from Redstone Dust into a Water Bottle.
In a Brewing Still, distilling any potion ingredient into a Mundane Potion creates a Mundane variety of that ingredient’s effect. For example, Distilling a Golden Carrot into a Mundane Potion creates a Mundane Potion of Night Vision (03:00). Mundane Potions can be inverted via Fermented Spider Eye, splashed via Gunpowder, or lingered via Dragon’s Breath, but they cannot be thickened via Glowstone Dust or extended via Redstone Dust. Thus, Mundane Potions are essentially a weak, limited form of actual potions that are accessible in the early game. As it takes one ingredient per potion, the Brewing Still is one third as efficient as the Brewing Stand.
Flower Pot Condensation
A Beetroot distilled into a Water Bottle makes Suspicious Brew.
When a Brewing Still with a Suspicious Brew in the bottle slot has a Flower Pot placed on top of it, there is a random chance (5% per random tick) that the Suspicious Brew turns into a Mundane Potion whose effect depends on what flower was in the pot.
The effect granted by each flower is constant in any given world, but the mapping is random for each different world, as determined by the world seed. Thus, in one world, if a Dandelion condenses into a Mundane Potion of Water Breathing, it will always condense into a Mundane Potion of Water Breathing, but in another world, it might condense into a Mundane Potion of Levitation.
There are 38 possible Flower Pot effects, one for every possible contents of a Flower Pot:

Remedies
The Brewing Still can be used to craft Remedies, which clear only certain effects from a player instead clearing all their effects like Milk. A Remedy for an effect can be distilled from the ingredient for that effect into a Milk Bottle. For example, distilling Sugar and then a Fermented Spider Eye into a Milk Bottle will give a Slowness Remedy that clears only the slowness effect. Remedies can be splashed, lingered, and tipped.
Essences
The Brewing Still is the only way to create Essences.
